A Review of "An Inconvenient Romance"

Introduction I am extremely excited to announce that An Inconvenient Romance by author Chalon Linton has earned the first five-star review in the short history of Bitty Book Nook! Dear readers, this book was, quite honestly, flawless, in my humble opinion. I could not name a single "con" about this book--and believe me, I was actively searching for at least one! But alas, Mrs. Linton has charmed me completely with this pleasantly soft Regency romance. My Rating:  ★★ ★★ ★ Synopsis: "The countryside of England provided an idyllic backdrop for Charles Brumley's and Leah Hasting's childhood. Neighbors and friends, the pair passed many happy days racing through the rolling hills of Derbyshire. Everything was perfect--until Charles ruined it all and abandoned Leah for university. Six years later, the former friends are thrust into each other's paths once more. Leah had been looking forward to the ball, an opportunity to further her acquaintance w

A Review of "The Xeno Manifesto"

Introduction What a wild ride this novel is! Author Brysen Mann graciously contacted me and offered me a free Kindle copy of his book in exchange for a review, and I can honestly say that he absolutely blew me away with The Xeno Manifesto . I always love a book that I can't put down, and although they're rare to stumble across, this sci-fi adventure novel absolutely took the cake! I started reading it on January 26th and just finished it, today, on January 28th. As a huge fan of conspiracy theories, The Xeno Manifesto definitely brought out my tin-foil hat side. My Rating:  ★★ ★★ Synopsis: "Deputy Frank Smirnov wants a peaceful life but fate has chosen a different path. He could never have imagined a course that not only give him insight to his past but to the true origins of the human race. NSA Agent Zachariah Allmass' job is to eliminate those who know too much, and those 'Beings' with powers untold that have elected to remain hidden for all th

A Review of "Control Freakz"

Introduction Let me begin by saying that part of the beauty of books is that they are completely subjective. Just because a novel is not particularly my cup of tea doesn't mean that somebody else is obligated to dislike it. With that being said, I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with Control Freakz . The concept of teens on the run from the government is tired and played out, and a novel would have to be extremely well-written with a heart-racing plot in order for me to even consider being interested in reading it. Unfortunately, this novel didn't do it for me. My Rating:   ★★ Synopsis: "Alone. Abandoned. Threatened. Natalie has lost all hope for a better future. Everything she's known and everything she's ever loved is gone, and it's up to her to get her old life back. In Michael Evans's first novel, Control Freakz, Natalie's journey toward a better life begins. When Protocol 00 is enacted, Natalie's family is taken

A Review of "Mercury's Son"

Introduction After what feels like forever, I have finally finished Mercury's Son by the talented Luke Hindmarsh. The holiday season can be crazy for anyone, but luckily for me, I had this wonderful novel to keep me sane! I found it via Booktasters on Twitter (and will happily use their free services again!) I began this book when Mr. Hindmarsh kindly exchanged a Kindle copy of it for an honest review, and I have to say, I was far from disappointed! Growing up in the Information Age led me to host a great passion for cyberpunk, and Mercury's Son fulfilled that craving! This murder-mystery novel is set in a dystopian society run by elements of technology after Earth was destroyed in a nuclear war, which, to me, is both cautionary and exciting all at the same time! My Rating:  ★★★★ Synopsis: " Valko can see the last moments of a victim's life. It comes at a price--a scrap of flesh cut from his brain   and replaced with an implant. Bound  to  a drug that
